Welcome to our Web Site and Thank you for your interest. A little about us. We are a family owned and run business. We sell Theatrical Make up, Masks and Wigs. We have been in business for 125 years. The business was started by Euginie Saussaye In 1877. Today the business is run by the 4th and 5th generation of Euginie. Euginie started the business by making hair pieces by hand for the French

Opera House, before it became the New Orleans Opera House. Euginie's grandson, Herbert J. Saussaye joined her in her work as she taught him the trade. Soon Herbert became the most recognized name in The Hair Goods business in  the area.

Herbert opened his own shop in the French Quarter at 805 Royal Street, in the early 1950's. The business took off running with Herbert leading the way.  The family business continued to succeed and grow for many generations to follow.

Today the business is owned and run by 2 of Herbert's children. Robert Saussaye and Lynn Highstreet. Herbert's grandchildren are also active in the business.

Today the business is much more then hair. We still make wigs, beards, mustaches etc.., but we also specialize in Theatrical Make-up. Theatrical make-up is specially formulated for the stage , film or TV. This is great for Theatrical Professionals as well as Drama students. We sell wigs of different types.
